2013 NGLCC Conference

NGLCC Annual Conference Volunteer Opportunities

The North Texas GLBT Chamber of Commerce is proud to be the host Chamber for the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce Business & Leadership Conference.

To guarantee that every one of the 700 business and community leaders who attend experience the unique hospitality that IS North Texas we need an army of volunteers.

For each day of the conference, July 30 through August 2, we need nearly 30 volunteers. Volunteering is not without its rewards; anyone who volunteers a minimum of three hours is welcome to attend the conference for FREE on the off-hours of their volunteer day.

900

Marketplace Expo

The expo is concurrent with a luncheon this year.  Along with basic set up, these volunteers will be responsible for moving conference guest to and from the luncheon plenary to the expo and vice versa.  In addition, expo volunteers will work with vendors to tear down and help with the packaging of materials for shipment.

900

Session Volunteers/Monitors

Volunteers in the sessions will be responsible for introducing the panels, guest speakers, and handing out evaluations.  These individuals will work to help accommodate the needs of the presenters as well as be available for onsite assistance with technology issues, material needs, and general conference inquires.

900

Bus Transportation Guides

Bus transportation volunteers are responsible for directing traffic for our shuttle service. We will have a volunteer station at the Sheraton as well as at the Omni in the morning and evening to make sure conference goers understand the time rotation tables and locations of drop off/pick up.

Registration Table

Registration volunteers are a frontline resource for all conference information. Aside from checking in conference attendees, these volunteers should be versed in NGLCC jargon to help assist with directions, session locations, and general inquiries about the conference including but not limited to internet access, emergency procedure, etc.

Reception Volunteer

Reception Volunteers are responsible for greeting guests and providing direction assistant to and from locations.  These volunteers will be debriefed on the transportation methods the NGLCC suggests for our attendees and will also be available to assist with other duties as assigned.

Floaters

Floaters should be available to assist with general conference inquiry as well as be on standby to assist NGLCC staff with various needs throughout the length of the conference.  Ideally, these individuals would work during the most busy registration times and around reception hours.

UPS Expo Storage Room

We are hoping to secure a space at the host hotel for all shipped expo items to be stored.  This volunteer would be responsible for maintaining security in the space as well as keeping an organized system for all materials that are shipped to the hotel.  This volunteer will also work with expo vendors to make sure they are informed of where materials are located and how to properly gather them.

Small Business Sponsorships

The North Texas GLBT Chamber of Commerce will play host to the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) 10th Annual National Business and Leadership Conference in Dallas, Texas, at the Omni Dallas Hotel, from July 30 to August 2.
